In enzymology a 4-hydroxybenzoate 3-monooxygenase [NAD(P)H] (EC 1.14.13.33) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction4-hydroxybenzoate + NAD(P)H + H+ + O2 34-dihydroxybenzoate + NAD(P)+ + H2OThe 5 substrates of this enzyme are 4-hydroxybenzoate NADH NADPH H+ and O2 whereas its 4 products are 34-dihydroxybenzoate NAD+ NADP+ and H2O.This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases specifically those acting on paired donors with O2 as oxidant and incorporation or reduction of oxygen.
