In enzymology a 4-hydroxyacetophenone monooxygenase (EC 1.14.13.84) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethan-1-one + NADPH + H+ + O2 4-hydroxyphenyl acetate + NADP+ + H2OThe 4 substrates of this enzyme are (4-hydroxyphenyl)ethan-1-one NADPH H+ and O2 whereas its 3 products are 4-hydroxyphenyl acetate NADP+ and H2O.This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases specifically those acting on paired donors with O2 as oxidant and incorporation or reduction of oxygen.
