31872 Terkán is a small main belt asteroid with an orbital period of 1303.7227477 days (3.57 years). It was discovered on March 13 2000 by Krisztián Sárneczky and Gyula M. Szabó at Piszkéstető Station Hungary. The asteroid is named after Lajos Terkán an astronomer at Konkoly Observatory Budapest.
