3071 Nesterov (1973 FT1) is an outer main-belt asteroid discovered on March 28 1973 by T. Smirnova at Nauchnyj. It is named for Pyotr Nesterov a pilot of the Imperial Russian Air Force and the first pilot to perform the aerobatic maneuver known as a loop.
