It is one of seven dihydroxybenzoquinone isomers.The IUPAC name is 25-hydroxycyclohexa-25-diene-14-dione.Like many alcohols it behaves like an acid: it can cede two protons (pKal = 2.95 pKa2 = 4.87) to form the anion C6H2O2−4.
