24509 Joycechai (provisional designation: 2001 BT27) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered by the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research project in Socorro New Mexico on January 20 2001. It is named after Joyce Sophia Chai an American high school student whose environmental sciences project won first place at the 2008 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
