The 2400 series is a series of Chicago ‘L’ cars built between 1976 and 1978 by Boeing-Vertol of Eddystone Pennsylvania. 200 cars were built (numbered 2401–2600) and as of 2014 96 of them remain in service.The 2400 series was the third series of five interoperable series of Chicago ‘L’ cars known as the High Performance Family.
