2223 Sarpedon (1977 TL3) is a Jupiter Trojan discovered on October 4 1977 at Purple Mountain Observatory and named after the Lycian hero Sarpedon from the Iliad.Photometric observations of this asteroid during 1996 were used to build a light curve showing a rotation period of 22.741 ± 0.014 hours with a brightness variation of 0.14 ± 0.01 magnitude.
