The 2013 SMU Mustangs football team represented Southern Methodist University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They played their home games at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in University Park Texas an enclave of Dallas.This was the first year SMU participated as a member of the American Athletic Conference after having previously played in Conference USA
