The 2012 season was Malmö FF’s 101st in existence their 77th season in Allsvenskan and their 12th consecutive season in the league. They competed in Allsvenskan where they finished in 3rd position. The club also competed in Svenska Cupen however a decision on 25 November 2011 changed the season format of the cup this meant that the cup continued into the 2013 season 2012 would therefore be a gap year without a cup final.
