The 2012–13 season was Arsenal’s 21st season in the Premier League and 93rd consecutive season in the top flight of English football. Arsenal participated in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League after finishing 3rd in the previous Premier League season. The League Cup however was out of their reach and despite an entertaining cup run which included 13 goals scored in two games Arsenal lost to Bradford City in the quarter-finals on penalties.
