The 2011 season is the 58th year in Guangzhou Football Club’s existence their 44th season in the Chinese football league. The club was promoted from China League One in the 2010 season. Guangzhou kicked off the new CSL season with a 1-0 victory over Dalian Shide in front of an attendance of over 50000 at Tianhe Stadium.
