The 2009 WTA Tour Championships (also known as Sony Ericsson Championships – Doha 2009) was held in Doha Qatar from October 27 to November 1. It was the second time the Khalifa International Tennis Complex hosted the WTA Tour Year-End Singles and Doubles Championships.Women’s Tennis Association(WTA) rank No. 2 Serena Williams won her second year-end championships title defeating sister Venus Williams in the final 6–2 7–6(4).
