The 2009 Players Championship was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour that was contested from May 7–10. It was the 36th Players Championship. The tournament was won by Henrik Stenson of Sweden who came through the field on the final day to overhaul long-time leader Alex Čejka.Due to the number of players making the halfway cut (top 70 and ties) after two rounds a second cut was initiated after the third round.
