The 2009 Pittsburgh Panthers football team represented the University of Pittsburgh in the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The season was the fifth under head coach Dave Wannstedt. The 2009 season marked the team’s ninth at Heinz Field and the University’s 120th season overall. The 2009 season saw the introduction of a new offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr.
