The 2009 University of Akron Zips football team represented The University of Akron in the college football season of 2009. They competed in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) college football during the football season. Akron competed as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division. The team was coached by J.D. Brookhart and played their homes game in InfoCision Stadium.
