The 2009–10 season was the 88th season in York City F.C.’s history their sixth in the Football Conference and 82nd in the league system of English football. Their 17th place finish in the 2008–09 season meant it was their sixth successive season in the Conference Premier. It was also Martin Foyle’s first start to a season as manager after he was appointed following the sacking of Colin Walker in November 2008.
