After several friendlies the first competitive game was a cup game on 1 August. The league started on 8 August.Bayern made several squad changes signing Alexander Baumjohann Edson Braafheid Mario Gómez Ivica Olić Danijel Pranjić and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk.
