The 2009–10 season of Everton F.C. was Everton’s 18th season in the Premier League and 56th consecutive season in the top division of English football. The club began their preseason friendly schedule on 10 July 2009 and concluded the summer friendlies on 7 August. Everton began their Premier League season at home in Goodison Park with a 6–1 defeat to Arsenal the worst defeat to the North London side since a 7–0 loss in 2005.
