The 2007–08 season will be well remembered for the Motagua fans after having achieved their first international trophy in the Copa Interclubes UNCAF 2007; the team also became the league’s runner-up in the Apertura tournament being beaten by C.D. Marathón. They were also the only team capable of beating C.D. Victoria not only once but twice. In the Clausura tournament they reached the Semifinals.
