The 2006 Houston Dynamo season was the inaugural season of the club.The team was created on December 15 2005 when the San Jose Earthquakes were relocated due to owner AEG’s failure to secure a soccer-specific stadium. Even though all of San Jose’s players and coaches moved to Houston the team’s name logo history and statistics were not transferred and remained inactive in San Jose thus making the Dynamo a new team similar to the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL.
