Lazio continued the relative success the club had been enjoying for the past two years due to the actions of Delio Rossi as manager and Tommaso Rocchi’s success as a player. However Lazio got involved in the Italian football scandal where president Claudio Lotito was found guilty for trying to persuade referees to judge in Lazio’s favour following a few decisions Lotito found unfair.
