A.S. Roma had a really strange season in which it won eleven consecutive league matches which was by then a new Italian record. Despite that marvellous period it originally finished just fifth in the final standings before Juventus Milan and Fiorentina all were declared of varying guilt in a scandal that rocked Italian football in the summer 2006.
