A.C. Milan won no significant trophies in spite of a relatively successful season. Juventus proved too strong in the league although the Turin club was later stripped of the title due to manipulation of referees. Milan was found guilty to a lesser extent for similar offenses and thus did not inherit the title.What is mostly remembered from the 2004-05 Milan season is the infamous defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League final.
