The 2002–2003 season was Hereford United’s 6th season in the Conference National which saw them finish 6th.Following the club’s troubled 2001-02 season when they finished 17th the majority of the first team squad were released with only six contracted players remaining. Leading goalscorer Gavin Williams was offered a new contract but chose instead to sign for Yeovil Town who paid Hereford £22500.
