The 1999 Japanese Grand Prix was a Formula One race held on October 31 1999 at the Suzuka International Racing Course in Suzuka Japan. The race contested over 53 laps was the sixteenth and final round of the 1999 Formula One season and was won by Finnish driver Mika Häkkinen in a McLaren-Mercedes who claimed his second Drivers’ Championship in the process. It was also the final race for 1996 World Champion Damon Hill.
