19980 Barrysimon (1989 WF2) is a Main-belt asteroid discovered on November 22 1989 by David H. Levy and Carolyn S. Shoemaker at PalomarIt is named for amateur astronomer Barry Simon. Simon is the founder of the Deep South Regional StarGaze an amateur event held in the south annually since 1983. He is also a multi-term past president of the Pontchartrain Astronomy Society of New Orleans LA.
