The 1997–98 Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball team represented Georgetown University in the 1997–98 NCAA Division I basketball season. John Thompson Jr. coached them in his 26th season as head coach. They began the season in November 1997 playing their home games at US Airways Arena in Landover Maryland but in December 1997 moved to their new home court the MCI Center in Washington D.C.; they also played two home games early in the season at McDonough Gymnasium on the Georgetown campus.
