S.S. Lazio continued taking steps in direction towards the top of Serie A by finishing fourth in the table. Once again Giuseppe Signori became top scorer of the entire Serie A this time hitting 23 goals. Lazio also played in the UEFA Cup where it failed to get past Boavista from Portugal in the second round which was below expectations.
