The 1973 British Grand Prix (formally the XXVI John Player British Grand Prix) was a Formula One motor race held at Silverstone on 14 July 1973. It was the ninth race of the 1973 Formula One season.The race is known for the first lap pile-up which ultimately caused eleven cars to retire.
