The 1972–73 season was Paris Saint-Germain F.C.’s first season after its split from Paris FC. It was also PSG’s 1st and last season in the Championnat National. Robert Vicot was named coach replacing Phelipon. He began his coaching career at PSG with the Under-18s tooking them to the semi-final of the Coupe Gambardella. During this season he was the sole coach of the club.
