The South American Football Championship 1967 was won by hosts Uruguay Argentina finished second.Brazil and Peru withdrew from the tournament.Luis Artime from Argentina and Celino Mora from Paraguay were the top scorers of the tournament with 5 goals each. It was the first tournament in which Venezuela participated.
