The 1966 European Cup Winners’ Cup Final was an association football match between Borussia Dortmund of Germany and Liverpool of England on 5 May 1966 at Hampden Park Glasgow Scotland. It was the final match of the 1965–66 season of Europe’s secondary cup competition the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Both sides were competing in their first European final.Each club needed to progress through four rounds to reach the final.
