1955 McMath is the name of an asteroid which was discovered at Goethe Link Observatory near Brooklyn Indiana by the Indiana Asteroid Program. 1955 McMath was discovered on September 22 1963 by F. K. Edmondson. Mr Edmonson named the asteroid in memory of Robert R. McMath (1891-1962). Robert McMath was a bridge engineer and businessman and an astronomer.
