The 1948 FA Charity Shield was the 26th FA Charity Shield an annual football match held between the winners of the previous season’s Football League and FA Cup competitions. The match was contested by Arsenal who had won the 1947–48 Football League and Manchester United who had won the 1947–48 FA Cup at Arsenal Stadium on 6 October 1948. Arsenal won the match 4–3 with six of the seven goals coming before half-time.
