The 1947 UMass Redmen football team represented the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the 1947 college football season as a member of the NCAA’s Yankee Conference. The team was coached by Thomas Eck and played its home games at Alumni Field in Amherst Massachusetts. The 1947 season was the first the team played under the UMass banner as the school changed its official name from Massachusetts State College that year.
