The 1936 Vanderbilt Commodores football team represented Vanderbilt University during the 1936 college football season. The Commodores were led by Ray Morrison who served in his second stint and fourth year overall as head coach. Vanderbilt went 3–5–1 overall and 1–3–1 in conference play finishing ninth in the Southern Conference. They played their six home games at Dudley Field in Nashville Tennessee.
