189202 Calar Alto (provisional designation 2003 SM15) is an outer main belt asteroid. It was discovered by Felix Hormuth on September 17 2003 at Starkenburg Observatory in Germany. 189202 Calar Alto is named after the Calar Alto Observatory the largest optical observatory on the European continent.
