178294 Wertheimer (provisional designation 1990 TA12) is a main belt asteroid. It was discovered by Freimut Börngen and Lutz D. Schmadel on October 11 1990 at Karl Schwarzschild Observatory. 178294 Wertheimer is named after Egon Ranshofen-Wertheimer an Austrian lawyer journalist and historian.
