1717 Arlon (provisional designation: 1954 AC) is a main belt asteroid discovered on January 8 1954 by Sylvain Arend at the Royal Observatory of Belgium in Uccle. It is named after the Belgian town of Arlon.Arlon is roughly 9 km in diameter. In 2006 a team of astronomers at the Ondřejov Observatory announced the lightcurve analysis suggests that Arlon has a moon orbiting once every 18.236 hours at a distance of 16 km. The moon is approximately 4 km in diameter.
