1569 Evita (1948 PA) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on August 3 1948 by Miguel Itzigsohn. This object is named for former Argentine first lady Eva Perón who was commonly known by the affectionate Spanish diminutive form of her name Evita. The asteroids 1581 Abanderada 1582 Martir 1588 Descamisada and 1589 Fanatica were also discovered by Itzigsohn and were also given names in tribute to Perón.
