(1322) Coppernicus is an asteroid orbiting the Sun. It was discovered on 15 June 1934 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth in Heidelberg. The name refers to astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus with the spelling according to the one preferred by the biographer Leopold Prowe.
