Þú og þeir (Sókrates) (English translation: You And They (Socrates)) was the Icelandic entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 performed in Icelandic by Beathoven.The song deals with the singer’s idols many of whom are European composers such as Debussy and Tchaikovsky. A number of Icelandic people are also named such as Gunnar Thoroddsen and Einar Benediktsson – even strongman contest winner Jón Páll Sigmarsson.
