The German Progress Party (German: Deutsche Fortschrittspartei DFP) was the first modern platform–based political party in Germany founded by liberal members of the Prussian House of Representatives (Abgeordnetenhaus) in 1861 in opposition to Minister President Otto von Bismarck.
