The Cirebonese are an ethnic group centered on the city of Cirebon in the northern part of the island of Java in Indonesia. Numbering approximately 1.9 million the Cirebonese are Muslim. The language spoken by the Cirebonese is a mixture of Javanese and Sundanese with a heavier influence from Javanese. Generally Cirebonese can be considered as an Independent language outside Javanese and Sundanese.
